Farmchemie & Wayamba University Unite To Revolutionize Poultry Research

Farmchemie, Sri Lanka’s renowned animal health company, has signed a partnership agreement with the Department of Livestock and Avian Sciences at Wayamba University

On 18th June 2026, Farmchemie (Pvt) Limited proudly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone in advancing industry-oriented research in poultry. Through this industry- academic partnership, Farmchemie will support the construction of a fully sophisticated poultry cage system, enabling students to gain hands-on experience and boosting their research skills. This initiative reflects commitment of Farmchemie to strengthening the poultry industry by empowering future generation with advanced knowledge.

The collaboration aims to:

  • Enhance scientific and industry-oriented research in poultry production
  • Provide students and researchers with access to cutting-edge facilities

At the signing ceremony, representatives from both Farmchemie and Wayamba University emphasized the importance of industry–academia partnerships in driving innovation and ensuring food security of Sri Lanka.

  • Prof. E. M. P. Ekanayake, Vice Chancellor
  • Dr. Gamika Prathapasinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition
  • Dr. H. N. N. Dilrukshi, Head of the Department of Livestock and Avian Sciences
